Los Angeles buzzed with cultural synergy as the BET Awards and IGN Live both took place over the same weekend, each respectively representing the pinnacle of entertainment for their audiences. The BET Experience featured its first-ever Gaming Lounge, spotlighting iconic titles like Madden, Mario Kart and arcade classics while emphasizing authentic Black gaming moments, including spades and pop‑a‑shot basketball. Meanwhile, IGN Live at The Reef in LA drew hundreds of gamers with high-energy features like Nintendo Switch 2 battles (Mario Kart World, Street Fighter 6), expanded panel rooms, an artist alley, and over 20,000 prize giveaways highlighting the intersection of community and competition.

Bridging Two Worlds

As Cxmmunity Media secured access to both events, the organization was uniquely positioned to connect the dots between mainstream Black entertainment and the thriving gaming universe. The team's presence at BET’s lounge and IGN’s live event opened up opportunities to spotlight underrepresented content creators and Black gaming influencers. By capturing moments like Christian Isaiah mastering spades and King Vader’s 902 high score, and juxtaposing them with elite gaming reveals and community-building at IGN Live, this provided Cxmmunity unique point of view of what it could look like to bridge the two spaces.

Seizing a Digital Opportunity

Looking ahead, Cxmmunity Media sees a clear path to becoming the digital bridge between major gaming and tech brands and the broader Black gaming and content creator community. By leveraging its documented presence at both high-visibility events, it can offer brands access to authentic cultural storytelling, inclusive gaming activations, and innovative content creation. With the momentum of LA’s dual weekend celebration, Cxmmunity is set to unlock new partnerships creating value for brand partners and spotlighting Black creators in gaming spaces where representation matters most.
